This guest post was written by Luciano Graffi, Database Administrator, Application Architecture and Operations Management for Swiss Medical in Argentina. Don’t miss the session “Next Generation Enterprise Rule Management: The Swiss Medical Story” (Tuesday Feb 26, 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm).
I am really looking forward to my trip to Palm Springs. Conferences like DIALOG are always extremely enriching - not just for the customers, exhibitors, and partners attending the event,…

If you’re anything like me, you probably do most of your reading online these days. Of course, blogs, wikis, forums, e-newsletters and the like are great for staying on top of the news. Nevertheless, I’m still a great fan of the good old-fashioned printed word.
Below is a list of all the speakers at DIALOG 08 who have authored or co-authored a book related to the content of the conference…

If you’re a policy manager in a Fortune 1000 company, chances are that your company continues to maintain real-time business applications written in COBOL (Common Business Oriented Language).
If the challenge of making your existing mainframe COBOL applications more agile without disrupting your mission-critical systems brings you out in a cold sweat, or you simply don’t have the budget or the time to redevelop all your existing COBOL applications, then…

With four days still to go before DIALOG 08 and one day to go before online registration closes, it looks like the conference is already exceeding expectations!
Over 140 clients are registered for the event (that’s 40 more than the conference team had originally targeted), and after factoring in partners, press/analysts and ILOG staff, there’ll be around 300 attendees altogether.
We’ve got people coming from the software, manufacturing, insurance and consulting,…

Of the many customer applications that will be showcased at DIALOG 08, the one developed by SAT, the tax collecting authority for the Mexican Federal Government, really caught my eye - and not just because of the opportunity for a cute title for today’s post. Statistics such as “a 93% reduction in paperwork,” “1,800 tax-paying scenarios,” and “2.5 million tax return questionnaires” really do grab your attention!
The application, which…

The final countdown to DIALOG 08 has begun!
I’ve now arrived in California and got to meet with some of the key members of the DIALOG conference team face to face today for the first time at ILOG’s Sunnyvale headquarters. Final preparations for the event are now underway - the conference bag stuffing party starts tomorrow morning @ 9am! Remarkably, everyone’s still smiling, so things seem to be pretty much under…

There is growing interest in understanding the impact of various supply chain decisions on a firm’s carbon emission footprint. This awareness is moving rapidly up the corporate, consumer and legislative agenda. I was pleased to see, therefore, that “green logistics” also features highly on the agenda for DIALOG 08.
On Monday February 25th (2:30 pm - 3:15 pm), Martin Brotschul from Accenture will explain the financial case for sustainability and…

DIALOG 08, as its name suggests, will provide a real forum for ILOG customers and partners to share and discuss their strategies, best practices, and achievements. It seems only right, therefore, that the event should serve as a backdrop for the launch of ILOG’s exclusive new customer reference program: C-LinX.
Customers presenting at DIALOG will have the opportunity to describe their work and to discuss and exchange experiences with a highly…

Jon Ferraiolo will present “The Power of Mashup Technology—Helping the Enterprise Meet the Promise of Web 2.0 and SOA” at DIALOG 08 on Monday Feb 25th, 11.30 am - 12.00 pm.
Web 2.0, Mashups, SOA: Probably the top three buzzwords around at the moment in enterprise IT. All credit to Jon Ferraiolo, then, for managing to squeeze all three of them into the title of his DIALOG 08 keynote presentation (just edging…

No self-respecting conference would be complete without good swag (the other essential ingredient being good food - which I already mentioned here and here - oh and good speakers and sessions too, of course).
DIALOG 08 is certainly no exception. With such a great line-up of sponsors and exhibitors in our Solutions Hall, there’ll be give-aways galor and plenty of opportunities to grab some great freebies. Here are a few quick tips to make sure you…
