(Almost) Back from 360Flex Europe
Thanks to all the attendees of ILOG Elixir hands on session at 360Flex Europe. If you didn’t get the latest version (the one on the 360Flex USB key is a bit outdated) of the hands-on Flex Builder project you can get it here. This project might also be useful to everyone interested in learning ILOG Elixir from step by step samples. I hope we will improve that hands-on in a near future.
There were plenty of interesting sessions, amongst which I’d like to highlight 3 of them as they were especially original either by being both didactic and full of humor for the first one, very passionate for the second one and deeply technical for the last one:
- Cairngorm for Beginners by Neil Webb. This was an intro talk that managed to make sure everyone can understand how Cairngorm can be useful to your Flex application in a absolutely non-boring way. A must-see if you still do not know/use Cairngorn or if you are looking at hints on how to explain Cairngorn to your colleagues ;).
- Flex and Accessibility by Giorgio Natili. Giorgio was very passionate and shown tips & tricks of Flex accessibility, including some undocumented stuff that you can’t really find just browsing Google (at least if you are not Giorgio ;)).
- Dense and Hot: What happens at Flex app startup? by Michael Labriola. Quite dense presentation indeed, not easy to follow for those with few Flex knowledge but very interesting for those who wonder how a Flex application is bootstrap by the Flash Player.
360Flex San Jose has just been announced, and I would recommend attending as, at least for the European version, there were plenty of other interesting sessions and probably some top sessions I didn’t attend as there were 4 parallel tracks.
Thanks John and Tom for all of this!

Thanks for coming to the show. I wanted to attend your hands-on, but seeing as how I was in that room for 2 days straight….I just couldn’t do it!
I love your components though. They look absolutely beautiful.
